| I was able to successfully disable the online features for my various bank accounts, albeit one at a time followed by a close/restart. There is still a problem. Once removed when I try to setup online services again I get the error message "this operation cannot be performed". The same behavior occurs on both the original, restored backup of the original and repaired version of the original. I am at a loss. -zender "Marty List" <bill.gates[at]sun.com> wrote in message news:342b9dF42gv8vU1[at]individual.net... - quote - > Yes and No. I never found a fix, but Microsoft support suggested going > back to Money 2004 and disabling the online features for that account, and > then converting the file to Money 2005 again. | Thanks for the quick response. I've been on Money 2005 for quite a long time now so will try option #2. I already tried disabling the passport and clearing the existing online account access information to no avail. For the record, I've upgraded regularly/annually since Money 97 and have never before had so many problems with a Money version. Thanks again, zender "Marty List" wrote: - quote - > Yes and No. I never found a fix, but Microsoft support suggested going back > to Money 2004 and disabling the online features for that account, and then > converting the file to Money 2005 again. | Yes and No. I never found a fix, but Microsoft support suggested going back to Money 2004 and disabling the online features for that account, and then converting the file to Money 2005 again. Since I still had Money 2004 installed on my primary machine and was only testing Money 2005 in a Virtual PC machine, this was easy for me to try and it worked. If you've been entering transactions into Money 2005 for a few months then this might not be a good solution. You could try disabling the online access for that account, then closing Money, and then re-enabling it. You could also try disabling online access and closing the old account and then create a new one. | Marty, I am receiving the same message after having successfully used Money 2005 for the past few months. Did you ever get resolution for this problem? If so, what? | I just installed Money 2005, and successfully converted my file from Money 2004. When I try to do an Internet update, I get this error: "Money encountered an internal error while attempting to save or clear a PIN number in your Money file. Please contact Microsoft support for assistance." I've tried changing the user name and PIN to something else and then changing it back, it seems to work but I get the same error when trying the update again. Help/About shows 14.0.125.825 |
