| Jeff, be sure to post back if you figure this out. Actually, the only thing I liked about M05 was that it downloaded my transactions from Netbenefits rather than just the positions. I can't get it to do that in M04. | I second Chris's comment. I download netbenefits transactions into M04 and M05 without a problem. Netbenefits does not use Yodlee, it is a direct connection. I will however say that they gradually added various companies to the list that they support from the Fidelity side. I do not know if this list is now 100% of all customers. When you log in they will tell you if your account is supported. At one time only 3 of my 4 accounts were supported, but now all 4 are. It is nice to have them fine tune the transaction that I manually load each pay period. Chris Cowles wrote: - quote - > I download NetBenefits transactions in M04 without a problem. |

| I think the key message is the part of Steve's post reading "exactly like you want it to". It's good this whole thing works for you. Read the posts for a week. You will find that it doesn't work so well for many users. | Steve: I've been following your commentary along those lines on this board. However, I respectfully disagree. The competition provides it (Quicken) and Money 2005 does a good job of downloading Netbenefits OFX data. Expecting the software to be able to download transaction data and correctly match it to your existing manual transactions is not unreasonable. It's been available in both Quicken and Money for some time and it works flawlessly with many institutions. I do think Money may have overreached in 2005 with its attempt to get non-OFX participating sites to work via Yodlee. I am not attempting to use that service and nor will I based on what has been reported here. I understand you are trying to make a point and I agree that the product is good for many users and that for many of us "manual" may be good enough. However, it is a bit of a stretch to say that we are kidding ourselves to expect the software to be able to download OFX data. I check it out on their site whenever I want. Money provides up to date stock and fund balances. Each month end I MANUALLY go to net benefits and, using my brain, I pick up all the added share or interest info and record it in Money. It really doesn't take much time and I know I've got it right because I check the balances right there and then. I truly believe that you guys who are so insistant that this $25 product can and should download data to Money from various sources and businesses exactly like you want it to are (1) kidding yourselves and (2) wasting your valuable time trying to make it happen. | Thanks for your reply. I should have been a bit clearer. I am trying to use the OFX link to Netbenefits rather than going to the website and downloading the qif. | I'm still using Money 2002, so don't know if there's a difference. From NetBenefits, I download the statement to a separate file. You have to clear an option in the Windows file types to prevent Money from automatically opening the QIF file after the download. From within Money, use File | Import to bring the file into the account Dave "Jeff M" <tchphysics-remove[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message news:OaWCEW2vEHA.2116[at]TK2MSFTNGP14.phx.gbl... - quote - > Has anyone had success with downloading transactions from a Fidelity > 401(k) using Netbenefits in Money 2004? > I am currently using Money 2005 primarily because it works with > Netbenefits correctly. | Has anyone had success with downloading transactions from a Fidelity 401(k) using Netbenefits in Money 2004? I am currently using Money 2005 primarily because it works with Netbenefits correctly. I've tried several times going back to 2004 (which is a better program) but cannot unfortunately get Netbenefits to work correctly. What it does in 2004 is provide an update to the positions held but does not download individual transactions. I would switch back to 2004 if I could solve this one problem. Jeff |
