| I had the same problem with M05 Standard. 1 iteration of e-mail and phones lead to a frustrating NO FIX Sent an e-mail to cancel the order and received the following help, which fixed the problem. Give it a try. Step one did it for me. Bill Dear William, This is Sam from Microsoft Money Online Support, and I'll be assisting you with your case today. To give the most accurate support possible, I would like to give a brief summary of the issue as I understand it: You have purchased Money from the website. However, it is shown as Trial Version. You would like to ask a refund of Money. If I have misunderstood, please do not hesitate to let me know. I am sorry for the inconvenience you have encountered. Please be assured that I will try my best to assist you with this issue. Regarding this issue, it may be caused by multiple factors. In order to narrow down the cause and resolve it, let's try the following steps: Step 1 Associate your Money with the Passport ====================================== 1. Please launch Money. 2. Click File-> Password Manager. 3. Sign in with your correct Passport. 4.Run a update and check the issue again. If the issue persists, please move on to step 2. Step 2 Force Money to update. ======================== 1. Close Money. 2. Click Start > Run, input the path for the installation of Money, and add mnycorefiles after that. For instance, on my end, Money is installed under c:\program files\microsoft money 2005\, so I should go to the c:\program files\microsoft money 2005\mnycorefiles folder. 3. Copy the manifest.xml file to the desktop 4. Right click the manifest.xml file under the mnycorefiles folder, choose Open With and click Notepad or Wordpad. Note: if you cannot find the file, please launch Internet Explorer, refer to My Computer-> Tools-> Folder Options-> View tab, and clear the option "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)". 5. Change the beginning of the file from <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Package> <Files Time="2004-09-08T09:05" Version="14.0.150.825" UIVer="TOK_UIVER" PVersion="825" to <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <Package> <Files Time="2004-09-08T09:05" Version="14.0.150.805" UIVer="TOK_UIVER" PVersion="805" 6. Save changes and close the file. 7. Launch Money again and get Money updates. | I'm having fits. I'm a long time user. Three days ago I upgraded online and downloaded Mny 20005 Deluxe. The version keeps coming up as the trial version. Now I'm trapped in a endless help cycle with their support group. Have others experienced this? Any advice? -- Karl |
