Default Re: Downgrade Version?

I don't think this was an error related to having Small Biz first. I went
from 04 Deluxe to 05 Deluxe and am having the same issue. If I restore from
my last 04 backup, it converts and opens just fine. As soon as I close down
and go back in, I can't.

I have to disagree with this statement. I was running Money 2003 Small Biz
Edition and tried to upgrade to Money 2005 Deluxe without the small biz
features.

The upgrade on Sunday worked...it removed Money 2003, installed Money 2005,
converted my file and life was good. I updated accounts, linked to online
banks that I couldn't link to before, and (not that I wanted it) my Money
data was accessible through moneycentral.msn.com (I know I can remove
it...I'm still debating it).

Today I needed to reboot my machine. Then I tried to run Money 2005 Deluxe
for the first time since using it Sunday following the upgrade. When logging
in with my .NET password I get the error:

"The place you are trying to reach only functions in the Business version of
Money, and can't be used in the version you are using now. If you want to
use this place you will have to upgrade to MS Money Small Business."

Interesting. No where on the package does Money 2005 Deluxe state that I
need to purchase more expensive software for features that I don't need. My
PC meets the System Requirements listed on the side panel.

Calls to tech support are fruitless -- all they tell me is that this type of
upgrade is not allowed. If any MS Techs or MVP's would like my case number
to review it be my guest and I will email you privately. Tech support tells
me to return the product and pay more to buy the Small Business version.

I suggest you stay away -- make that run away -- from MS Money 2005 if you
are running a previous small business edition and considering a "downgrade"
because it won't work.

I have my Money 2003 CD and a backup money file from immediately prior to
the upgrade. My question now is to remove 2005 and revert back to 2003 or
just throw it away and switch to Quicken (which I don't think is as good as
money...this is like my 5th or 6th version upgrade of MS Money and I hate to
leave.)

Default Downgrade Version?

I currently have MS Money 2004 Small Business. I no longer need the small
business features. Is it possible to "downgrade" to Money Premium 2005?
