| And hopefully your "forced upgrade" isn't as bad as it seems. If the versions of applications you're running right now are installable on a Win2K platform, there's a decent chance it can run in a WinXP platform. I myself have Money 2002, Office 2000, Norton Systemworks 2002, and Encarta 2000 all running great on a WinXP system. | Georg, With all due respect Georg, it might be time to upgrade. Windows 98 (both versions) have been end-of-life for a very, very long time. You are now in something Systems Engineers coin "Obsolescence Risk." That is, you can upgrade now, while you can take your time OR later, when your system crashes, none of the avail hardware works or you cannot get support... To answer your specific question: YES, you'll have to upgrade to Windows 98 Second Edition, YES you would have to pay for it, however it is now no longer for purchase. Your best option: Upgrade to Windows XP Home. "Georg" wrote: - quote - > I was trying to install the M05 trial but it requires Windows 98 second > edition. I am using Windows98 [first edition].
