Make an extra copy of your .mny file in case you do something you don't like. It is much better to have an unused spare than to wish you had a copy. In fact, it might be good to restore back to a point before you set up the download. Then print the account register sorted by date. That would be very useful to see, when you sort the register by date, if they agree up to a particular date. Printing in landscape mode may be helpful to get everything on one line. Then you can return/restore to your post-download version to work with. I suspect you got a 1-time duplication of transactions. At this point what I would do is to sort the account register by entry order (View-> SortBy). The downloaded transactions should be at the bottom, and they will probably have an "E" in the C column. Note the date of the oldest of those. What you want to do is to delete or Void (I would prefer Void; you can un-void, but cannot un-delete) duplicates. The next question would be whether to delete/void the hand-entered or the downloaded ones. I am not sure it matters actually. Voiding the hand-entered ones is the surest, but with OFX it *should* work either way. - quote - > If not how would I create a new program and reconcile it

| I have microsoft money and have entered all my info manually for my business account and my personal account since August 2002. I recently asked my computer tech if there was a way to download info electronically from the bank website. I did this and now my totals are tremendously inflated. Is there any way of correcting this? My records are totally inaccurate now. If not how would I create a new program and reconcile it month by month. I can go back 18 months for downloads in the personal account, but only 3 months for the personal account. |
