| I'll add a question. From reading other stuff around, some home networks have one IP address for the router's direct connection to the internet and then the various PCs on that network have local IP addresses. Could a "change" in IP address between the local machine and the internet connection cause problems in the Passport communication path? | I do it regularly, via a ethernet connection to a router connected to a broadband modem. If you disable Passport, can you still sign in? -- Michael Gordon MVP "Thomas" <Thomas[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2441B28A-7CBD-4299-807E-2FE1911D9000[at]microsoft.com... - quote - > Let me try to put it clearer. | Let me try to put it clearer. The problem is not wireless conenction. This is a desktop PC wireline connected to D-Link DI-714P+, which is a wireless broadband router. The network connection is dial-up ADSL, and the router handles the dial-up process. To make it clearer, the network connection is from ADSL modem to D-Link router, then to my desktop PC. So, first thing here is, it's wireline connection ,not wireless. If I connect the network dierctly from ADSL modem to desktop PC, I can sign-in Passport. And if I switch back to my normal network connection, I cannot. All other network connections for all purposes works well, the only thing not working is Money 2005. Hope this makes it clear. Thank you very much. | Well I have lots of serious problems with M2005, but that isn't one of them. I've connected wirelessly in numerous places including my home and work and haven't had that problem. | Can you sign-in to passport outside of Money with the wireless connected? I do not have this problem with my wireless. Cal is really the expert when it comes to these types of issues, but it sounds like the router is the culprit and not Money. | I posted a problem about cannot sign-in to Passport a few days ago. I just found that the cause is Money 2005 cannot detect my network connection via a router. I connect to the net via a broadband router (a wireless one, so I can share my net connection at home). If I bypass the router and plug the DSL line directly into PC, Money Passport sign-in works. But if I switch back to normal (connection via router), I cannot sign in again. I think this is a serious bug. Please get it fixed ASAP. Thank you very much in advance! |
