| I cannot see anything on this page that says Enlarge/Reduce Porfolio. I could send you a screen shot... I don't know if it would post on this forum. I see two tabs. One says Portfolio and the other News On the Portfolio Screen there are 5 buttons right below this that say: New Account, New Transactions, View Options, Refresh page, Trade Now. Then there are two drop down menus that are named Account: and View: Then I see my two retirement accounts listed and MSN Stock Lists and this row go all the way across my screen. Above this and below this are advertisements only. On the menu bars there are no Enlarge/Reduce Portfolio options or More options. I MUST be on the wrong screen. | Jeff, I am trying to follow your directions, but I run into a problem when I get to #2. I cannot find More/File Options/Restore Backup. When I go to MSN Central on Explorer, there is no left hand task bar on the Portfolio Page. When I go to MSN Central from within Money, there is a More option on the left hand side of the Portfolio page, but there is not a choice for File Options. Question 1: Are you in Money or Internet Explorer when you go to MSN Central? Question 2: If you are in Money program itself, when you click on More, is it under the heading OTHER TASKS on the left hand pane? Question 3: If you are on the web, can you give me a hyperlink to the exact webpage you are going to? | Don't follow the directions given. Instead, try the following: Open your 2004 file within Money 2004. Turn off synchronization Upgrade to Money 2005 Billpay should now be working and no duplicate account to merge. If you then want to access your accounts on the web, do not turn off Billpay as the directions claim. Follow the below "backdoor" method for synchronization that I stumbled upon: 1. Open MSN Moneycentral and load the Portfolio Manager by going to MSN Money and selecting Portfolio within the Investing section. 2. Once the shell of the Porfolio loads, go to the left hand tasks bar at the bottom and click on "More|File Options|Restore backup". 3. Select your current Money 2005 data file "xxx.mny" as the source to restore from. Apparently, this restore backup option actually invokes a sync with Money. It's that simple. No requirement to disable Billpay and you don't end up with duplicate accounts. | I upgraded my money 2004 file to money 2005. I then turned off MSN Bill Pay and set up my accounts to be accessed on the web. After synchronization, my MSN Bill Pay account (MSN-Checking) showed up in my account list. I want to link this account to my checking account, but when I select "Merge Duplicate Accounts", it states there are no accounts to merge. The help file tells you to follow these exact steps. Does anybody know a work-around to get this working? Thanks in advance, Brian |
