| Hi Marvin, I am upgrading from 2004 to 2005 and I am getting the same error message, here is a link to microsoft knowledge base (we seem not to be the only ones that are affected). You could following the instructions in the link and try to solve it, however, when I followed the insturctions, I had no luck of getting it working, if you do, drop me a line. here is the link: http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;320193 Ronald "anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com" wrote: - quote - > Does the 02 file need to be in a specific location? > It did give me an option to browse the file when I did > an "File-> Open" to select the 02 file. | Does the 02 file need to be in a specific location? It did give me an option to browse the file when I did an "File-> Open" to select the 02 file. When it tried to convert the file, after the backup copy is completed, this is when I get the error message. | I've just upgraded from 2002 to 2005 and did not encounter this problem. Had you moved the 02 file to a different location? Do you have an option to browse for it? kp "Marvin" <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:358f01c4ae6a$45866ae0$a601280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > I'm currently using Money 2002 and I've just purchased > Money 2005. | I'm currently using Money 2002 and I've just purchased Money 2005. Whenever I tried to upgrade my Money 2002 file to Money 2005, I'm getting the following message: "Money cannot locate <path to my 2002 money file" or cannot open it, possibly because it is a read-only file or you do not have permission to change it or your disk drive is write protected." I've checked the file property, it's not read-only, I'm running windows xp and I'm the local adminitrator, I still have 20 GB of space on my harddrive. Has anyone encountered this problem? Any resolutions to this issue? Thanks Marvin |
