Default RE: Money 2005, unable to install

Dude-
I'm in the same boat. Upgraded from 2002, tried about 6 billion times to
install 2005 on XP HE. I'm jumping ship. My 45 minute tech support phone call
bore zero fruit. Quicken here I come.

Same problem here. Let me know if you find a solution.

Bad analogy. You can successfully remove all vestiges of a computer program.

No, it is "Unable to install required components. Try again later."
I am running WinXP Home Edition but couldn't think that would be the problem.
I've tried the new admin account trick and even:
"tried removing all traces of Money from your machine?

Haven't had any luck.

Even copied the contents of the CD to the hard drive and tried to install
from there but no good.

Was able to install on completely different computer with WinXP Pro but I
don't want it there because it is a company owned laptop and I need it on my
desktop.

If I can't get it fixed I will have to return it and get quicken...

Because then a new install won't have any existing registry keys or files
to interrupt the installation, and the error won't be subject to previous
installations causing any issues.

Why would one remove all traces of Money from the machine? That makes zero
sense.
MSM 05 is truly a POS.

Are you sure the error is not "Unable to initialize a required Money
component"?

Are you logged in with administrator privileges? Have you tried removing all
traces of Money from your machine?
(http://money.mvps.org/faq/article/102.aspx) before installing? Might also
be worth creating a new administrator account and trying the install from
there. Which version of Windows are you using too?

Default Money 2005, unable to install

Must be a different problem with mine. Disabled AV, but no
luck.

Here is the exact error message:

Setup was unable to install some of the components needed
to run Money. Try installing Money again.

Default Money 2005, unable to install

I tried to install Money 2005 standard. I allowed it to
unnistall Money 2002. After that, I got an error message:

Unable to install required components. Try again later.

Upon trying again, it displays the same error message again.

Any ideas?
