| All, I've discovered that Glyn is indeed correct here. I never used the 401(k) manager before, always preferring to use the following steps: Investing > Protfolio Manager > 401 K retirment acct > cash transactions > More cash tasks > Balance an account> Enter all the info in from my statement > then review summary and click finish as the earlier poster has layed out. As it turns out, the 401(k) manager is much simpler to use to balance the account, doesn't leave the few lingering dollars in the associated cash account, and most importantly...ACTUALLY WORKS to balance the account. I was able to successfully balance my quarterly statements from 3/31/04 and 6/30/04 using the 401(k) manager in Money 2005. I'm now a happy camper and will use the 401(k) manager in the future. | I recently switched to money 2005 deluxe. I never had a problem balancing my 401 k account using previous versions of money. I have money set up to transfer my 401 k withdrawl to the "cash" account tied to my 401 K account where it accoumulates until I recieve my qtrly 401 k statement that I can balance. The procedures I follow when attempting to reconcile my 401 K account are as follows: Investing > Protfolio Manager > 401 K retirment acct cash transactions > More cash tasks > Balance an account - quote - > Enter info in from my statement > review summary and click finish. I then get a message stating the following: "Your information is being updated. click Ok, wait a few moments, and then try again. If your problem continues, close & reopen money. If you're using MSN money, close and reopen internet explorer." Microsoft support as offered no help on this matter. This has always been the procedure i used to balance this account and never had any problems. Microsoft has been no help. Any fixes?? |
