| Thank you Michael. I believe you may have posted a potential solution to the issue that the Invest page accounts do not total correctly. I have the same accounts displayed in the portfolio with the same cash balances. The portfolio is correct but not the Investment page totals. Any ideas on this. I have run the file fix a few times, but it reports no errors with my data. | Yes, I remember seeing your posts over the years. I can't remember the year the method changed, but what you need to do now is enter the price the way it's quoted to you - as a percentage of par, where par is 100. So, in the situation you spelled out, the price would be 92.976. The quantity of bonds is entered as, not the number of bonds, but as the face value. So, if the bonds, when they mature, would be worth 30,000, then you should enter 30,000. Money will do the math (that par is 100, but bonds are soldin multiples of 1000 internally). Take a look at http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;121903. -- Michael Gordon MVP "William L. | Yes, you have interpreted correctly. I assume thta this is not a problem for most of the users. I have run the fix standard menu item as well. The totals on the Invensting page as opposed to the portfolio manager are also off. The same figures for each individual investment account is shown in each area. However the total is wrong for the investment home page. It is a simply matter of adding up what is displayed and not arriving at the same figure the program calculates. | I did the changes you suggested. The total portfolio value remains accurate, but the total value of the bonds as displayed on portfolio summary page is way off as I originally stated. On the accounts summary, the totals are correct. On the positions summary page, the errors remain. Seems like a bug to me. One screen shows them acurately, the alternate screen shows the same assets with a different value. Same underlying entry data. | Anyone having trouble with this. In portfolio view the price of 1000 bonds is given as 9297.60 and totals 337,944.27. Given the math, it is hard to tell what I should correct--the number of bonds, or the price of the idividual bonds. This sytem has never worked well for me, but previously the math was at least correct. |
