| Relax steve, take a deep breath, think of rolling sea waves... ohmmmmmmm.... If it bothers you so much, stop using it. It is afterall is said an done only software. Your life will continue on. By returning the product, you unload the problem you can get on with your life. | Hello Steve: You wrote in conference microsoft.public.money on Mon, 04 Oct 2004 11:33:08 -0500: SH> If that is the case, here is my message to Microsoft: If you want this message (the 3rd paragraph, specifically) to have more impact, then 1. open www.microsoft.com ; "contact us"; Microsoft Web Site and Corporation Feedback ; in the beginning of the message indicate that this is corporation feedback and NOT a technical support question, please don't forward to technical support. 2. send a fax to the MS corporate fax number found at www.hoovers.com. Again, indicate in the beginning who you want the message to be delivered to - for instance, to Steve Ballmer (you probably don't want it in the hands of the people interested in the success of MSN) regards, Vadim |

If that is the case, here is my message to Microsoft:> articles started quoting this newsgroup. You've just closed the barn door after the horse has left. Coming here *after* you've denied there are any widespread problems for weeks and fobbed off support to a bunch of cue card reading monkeys (presumably the same monkeys who did the Money-MSN integration that WORKS SO WELL) means whatever system you had for getting feedback from users has failed miserably. This is your own goddamn newsgroup--you created microsoft.public.*, they used to reside only on your servers--and you're finally getting around to reading it *after* one of your revenue streams has been getting unpleasant coverage in the press. Do you not realize that it is not the customer's job to hammer on you until you fix problems in your products? It is not even his job to make you aware of the problems. It is your goddamn job to do all that. This newsgroup hands you valuable feedback (and, yes, plenty of griping) on a silver platter and you either don't use it or you lie about not using it so that you can ignore it when it suits you. I could go back to Money 2002 and wait for 2005 to get the hell patched out of it, but it's not just the broken software, it's the broken mentality of people at Microsoft that pushed me to use a competing product. Believe me, it wasn't a decision I wanted to make, Quicken has its own issues. But after 10+ years of using Money, since version 2.0, I can belatedly spot the pattern: the software doesn't get better, it gets worse. Things that used to work get broken and new features push the limits of truth in advertising laws. The interface goes back and forth from kludgy to brain-dead and the only constant for years has been that it is s-l-o-w. Features that should have been fixed years ago persist in half-assed states--the examples are many and varied. So if you're just now starting to read your own newsgroups (which, again, I'm not sure I believe but that's irrelevant), you're about five or six years late. |

| I went to my local Best Buy and they only have a few copies of Money 2005 standard and the guy was taking them off the shelves and they had about 5-9 copies of the various 2004 products they were moving back to the top shelf. I asked him about it and he said he did not know why, he was just following orders from the manager. I am not suggesting that they are recalling the product, I bet the manager just had a bad experience with an angry customer or something. <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:30fa01c4a9a5$d2757eb0$a401280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > I think Microsoft should bite the bullet and withdraw > this product from the market and fix it before it looks > any more stupid in the media. > Money 2005 errors are beginning to make more news > headlines. | I think Microsoft should bite the bullet and withdraw this product from the market and fix it before it looks any more stupid in the media. Money 2005 errors are beginning to make more news headlines. Keep up the pressure guys, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Email Bill Gates direct to get a better response. |
