| On my desktop I run 1280x1024 on 18.1 diag. This puts you at about 94 dpi and my desktop at about 88 dpi. You're actually seeing a higher DPI than the OP, again assuming his 14" is all viewable. It would probably be hard to tell any of the three of them were different dpi except side-by-side. | I got out a ruler and measured the dead space on my computer three times before I started this topic. 64 square inches divided by 192 square inches is 33.33%. Since I am complaining, I rounded up to 34%. The fact isthe program needs one line for drop down menus, and that's it! I guess the best comparison I can make is the Microsoft Money 2005 Deluxe installation disk probably took up about 3% of the box it came in. Talk about bloat. ![]() "Michael Abbaticchio[MVP]" <nospam[at]abbaticchio.com> wrote in message news:uB6UsnaqEHA.1644[at]tk2msftngp13.phx.gbl... - quote - > I use a 14" monitor at 1024 x 768 and do not agree with this complaint. | After getting through all of the BUGS in Microsoft Money 2005 Deluxe (seems ALL 2005 versions are affected after reading recent posts), I can't believe how much screen real estate at the top is wasted on icons and row after row after row of text and options that really have nothing to do with ENTERING TRANSACTIONS, which is supposed to be the main purpose of these types of programs. Oh, and don't forget the frozen-in-place list of things that can be done that takes up space on the left side of the screen. About 34% of my screen is, in effect, out of service as a result of your over-indulgence in GARBAGE! Hello, Microsoft, some of us actually know how to use pull-down menus, and find that quite satisfactory. I'm sure you're aiming the product at adolescents with all of the crap that takes up space on the screen, but the last time I checked, most ten-year-olds don't have much use for this type of program. ![]() |
