| John, Which bank is it? Do you know whether they support Money directly or are part of the new M05 Yodlee-based access? Any bank that doesn't support Money directly will only work at the whim of Yodlee. For example, Peoples Bank of CT recently upgraded their web access but this hasn't been done at Yodlee yet. Therefore, trying to setup Peoples Bank of CT via Yodlee fails while using the same login at the Peoples website works just fine. This is easy to test at Yodlee's OnCenter website since even if their setup fails to connect using your setup info, you can click on its auto-login to see which web page it takes you to for bank site access. In the example above, one is taken to the old page which opens a separate window for redirection to the new page. Yodlee doesn't know how to handle this when trying to "scrape" the data to their interface. Therefore, one gets a failure message. Eventually they'll update their server database with the correct links but until that time access either via Yodlee's site or within Money 2005 will fail! Makes one skeptical about the long term usefulness of this engine within the context of MS Money. Banks frequently change their sites so for those banks that don't support Money directly, I forsee ongoing connection failures within Money. By the time one is finally updated at Yodlee another one will be failing and so on. Experience is starting to show that the more MS tries to "simplify" Money setup, the more problem-prone it becomes! It certainly seems clear in near-hindsight that inserting another entity between your banks and Money is only going to be trouble. While I don't keep things as basic within Money as some on this forum, there is certainly much truth in their admonishments to "KEEP IT SIMPLE"! Anyway John, post back with answers to my original questions and we'll see if we can straighten you out. Thanks. | I did sign in with my .net passport and I had originally connected wtih my bank(through money 2005), downloading checking and savings statements from within Money 2005. After the inital setup (first time using money 2005) when Updating all the online information I would get the error message that the sign-in information is inncorrect. From then on thats the only account that would not update. Money would update my Credit Card accounts, MSN Bill Pay, but the Bank account would get the error message. To try and solve the problem I deleted the Bank account and tried to Add it again but it did not work. |

I would call customer service at the bank and ask what you need to do to use Microsoft Money with them. |

| John, With the addition of the Yodlee engine in M05, the answer to this question has gotten significantly more complex than in prior versions. Please post back with answers to the following: 1. Do you use a .NET Passport to login to Money? 2. Which bank are you trying to setup? 3. Does your bank support direct access from within Money? 4. Does your bank have different login requirements for setting up within Money than they have for their web access? Thanks, JB John wrote: - quote - > I keep getting an error message stating that my sign-in > information doesn't match the bank's records, yet I know > the Login and Password to be correct. | I keep getting an error message stating that my sign-in information doesn't match the bank's records, yet I know the Login and Password to be correct. After recieving this message I verified it on my bank's website, so I know the information to be correct. I am typing it exactly the same as I would on the sign-in page on my bank's website(I know it is case-sensitive) yet money refuses to connect. WinXP SP2 Money 2005 Premium |
