Perhaps somebody with your same credit card would know. Typically I think of the credit card and the related bank as separate financial institutions. |

| I actually just made a backup of my entire money file and the backup did delete the transactions in the new account so I am all set. Now all I need to do it figure out a away to sync my credit card with that institution too. -Dan "Mark" <abcd[at]abcd.com> wrote in message news:415c3d95$1[at]news.microsoft.com... - quote - > I would suggest making a QIF export of you bank account before deciding to > merge, just in case it really does delete all transactions prior to Aug 2. > That way you can re-import the transactions from that QIF file. > -Mark > "Dan Orth" <danorth[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:%234MyvowpEHA.3900[at]TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... > > Hi- > > Thanks for that info, the only problem is when I try that it says that it > > detects transactions older than Aug. 2, 2004 and they will be deleted > during > > the merge to prevent duplicates. | I would suggest making a QIF export of you bank account before deciding to merge, just in case it really does delete all transactions prior to Aug 2. That way you can re-import the transactions from that QIF file. -Mark "Dan Orth" <danorth[at]hotmail.com> wrote in message news:%234MyvowpEHA.3900[at]TK2MSFTNGP10.phx.gbl... - quote - > Hi- > Thanks for that info, the only problem is when I try that it says that it > detects transactions older than Aug. 2, 2004 and they will be deleted during > the merge to prevent duplicates. | Thanks, you were right. One last question - I have a checking, savings, and credit card account with this credit union. When I set up online services the first time I choose to set up banking but now that that is working I wanted to have it automatically download my credit card transactions too. I can't seem to see where I can set up a credit card online service with them. It only gives me the ability to cancel using online services. Is there a way to do this? Thanks for all your help! -Dan "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:vjdol05sadp3il4vrqdv0b0es25evhko4l[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Dan Orth wrote: > > Thanks for that info, the only problem is when I try that it says that it > > detects transactions older than Aug. 2, 2004 and they will be deleted > > during > > the merge to prevent duplicates. I think it is referring to deleting downloaded things out of the *new* account. However that's why you want the extra backup. And I don't mean overwriting your only existing backup. You should have a backup of what your file was last week as well as what it was yesterday. File-> Restore is your undo. |

| Hi- Thanks for that info, the only problem is when I try that it says that it detects transactions older than Aug. 2, 2004 and they will be deleted during the merge to prevent duplicates. How can I avoid this? I don't want it to delete anything and I will delete it if neccessary. The majority of my transactions are before 8/2/04. Thanks for your help and your fast response! I really appreciate it alot! -Dan "Cal Learner-- MVP" <via_newsgroup[at]please.tnx> wrote in message news:3bcol0h7ovup3knqplmprnqsucr3c848ca[at]4ax.com... - quote - > In microsoft.public.money, Dan Orth wrote: > > My bank always had me manually download my info from their site by > > selecting > > a date range. | Hi- My bank always had me manually download my info from their site by selecting a date range. I just checked now and notice that they have automatic updates. When I set that up it created 2 more accounts for me. I want to just merge them together with my old ones since they have all the past transactions and names correct but I don't know how to do this. I would really appreciate any help anyone has. Thanks! -Dan |
