They are handy and more reliable. That does not mean that you should
rely on a single one. Rotate between at least two in case one fails.

Picture a power surge during a nearby lightning strike. The USB
flash stick could fry. They can fail to the extent that you need to
reformat from doing things in the wrong order. They are really good,
but not perfect. They are much better than floppies.

yes - it works great. Been doing it for years.

Yes, you can backup to a flash card. I do b/c I need 2
floppies. I got a 128MB flash card for free. So, I
leave that in the back of the computer for MSFT as well
as other important things.

Yes. I'm using a Lexar 512 MB jump drive and it works
great. Floppies are history for me.
