| This was a vote with your wallet decision. I've written Intuit several times over the years about minor features they ought to have. Case in point, in Cash accounts, they ought to have an option to consider all transactions as reconciled as they are entered. It makes it impossible to archive a year out if you have to manually update hundreds of transactions. Second and bigger is their interface. It a jamble of various versions (I've used all of their windows versions). Their's not any consistency. Some place look like windows 3.1, some like win95, and some like winxp. Features are hidden in odd places. All and all it was time to try something new. Now I'm beginning to regret it... - quote - > -----Original Message----- > Kick Money 2005 to the curb. | Kick Money 2005 to the curb. I've been on Money since 1997 and have been very happy. However, it appears as though new features and capabilities have diminished since 2002. It's ironic that many of the M05 users want to go to Quicken and yet you've moved from Quicken to Money. Why did you leave Quicken? - quote - > -----Original Message----- > I just switched this past weekend. > From the universe of the bizarre: > -Money takes over 1 minute to load. > -It frequently said that it had updates to install, but > never installed anything. > I finally determined that when Boinc/Setiathome was > running, M05 would get little CPU time. | I just switched this past weekend. From the universe of the bizarre: -Money takes over 1 minute to load. -It frequently said that it had updates to install, but never installed anything. I finally determined that when Boinc/Setiathome was running, M05 would get little CPU time. As soon as I disabled Boinc, Money loads instantly and the update download occurred as soon as the notice displayed. -Converting transactions from Quicken went fairly well except for transaction that had categories in common with money and those same categories had subcategories in Quicken. In this case no categorization occurred. The converter wouldn't create the subcategories and keep the original categorization. This cost me 3-4 hours to recategorize transactions for this year along. I haven't even looked at my previous years, which go to the mid-90s. -Viewing my investment information online is useless. My investment data appears to have been written to msn once and that was it. One of my funds on msn doesn't even record that I own hundreds of shares. I've setup passport and have updates running everytime I exit money. No updates. I records sales and purchases of new stocks, which I had to create new accounts for. This isn't present either. Don't know what to do about this - but it is annoying. On the good side... I created a report that I already had in Quicken. It displayed a transaction that Quicken refused to display. It looks like Quicken 04 has a reporting bug. I've been in Money since last Friday. I invested a lot of time to convert, but am considering switching back to Q04. If I revert, I'd like to get my money back, but sent the rebate in already. (I know, I need to wait a couple of days, but I do these while I think about it or else I forget.) Reading the newsgroup isn't giving me the warm fuzzies about staying with M05. |
