Default Re: Microsoft Money 2004 Canadian Standard Version (or is it?)

Hi,

Well I am following up on my own message.

I read help a bit deeper in the software and although Canadian dollars
was set as the base currency it was not using Canadian settings. The
help item in the software indicates that if this occurs you should:

1) Set US$ as the base currency and exit the software.

2) Set Canadian $ as the base currency and exit the software.

References to any tax features disappear in the menu at this point.

Default Microsoft Money 2004 Canadian Standard Version (or is it?)

Hi,

Well I have been a Quicken user for about eight years (Quicken 99 for
the last four years) and I thought I'd make the switch to MS Money. I
was quite happy with Quicken but I wanted to use 99 forever. However,
I got a new computer system, reinstalled Quicken 99, did all the
downloads but when it came to Revision 4, it could only be done with
online update which would constantly crap out on me (other than that
my system has been very stable).

I saw the deal at FutureShop Canada and thought $43 less a $15 rebate
is a pretty good price. I also had some pretty rude fellow at
Quicktax when I reinstalled those products (needed to get new product
key)which persuaded me to change products (I may be mistaken that
Quicktax and Quicken are associated).

I installed MS Money 2004 and everything works well...nice
interface...nice audio help etc.

However, everything in this software refers to US information. Tax
items refer to US tax forms and calculations, investing refers you to
US sites and exchanges, it does not even send you to msn.ca vs.
msn.com

I have set Canadian $ as the base currency. I see that a few people
in this group talk about Canadian settings. Do I need to do something
else to obtain the Canadian "content"?

The way it appears right now is that a base version has been supplied
by Microsoft and they printed up "Canadian version" boxes. I sure
hope that I am missing something to get the Canadian data.
