I'm surprised no one has taken an interest in this: FF miles are an
asset with a value, just like cars and houses, and tracking them in
Money is a very useful feature.

Miles never appreciate in value, they only depreciate -- the airline and
hotel companies de-value them by raising the bar on awards. Then
there's the added complication that miles only have value in discrete
increments (i.e., 19,500 miles yields nothing, ... until you get to
25,000 miles).

This converter addresses two of those complications: It helps you to
convert (combine) miles from two airlines, and thereby reach an award
level where you couldn't do so before with any one airline individually
-- it creates value where none existed before.

And, it gives you an incentive to use the newly created value sooner,
rather than later when it might cost more miles to obtain.
