Record the Payee Name Variation(s) shown for your grocer. Delete the entries that translate into your grocer. Then click on GoToPayeeRulesManager. Excluded Payee Names identifies words and phrases that should be ignored from the payee field (e.g., check, deposit). Add each word or phrase that were listed as a Payee Name Variation that you recorded. While you are at it, it is usually a good idea to select Tools-> Options-> OnlineServices-> ReplacePayeeNames.... You may want to set Tools-> Options-> OnlineServices-> AddADesctriptionToTheMemoField |

| I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to alleviate a problem that I am having. Whenever I download any new transactions, it automatically assigns a payee (and thus categories) to the newly downloaded transactions. The problem is that it assigns the SAME payee to ALL transactions. Is there a means of having it not assign ANY payee. This is annoying as we have setup alerts for spending etc., then every time we change one of the new items it alerts us again and again that we have spent thousands on groceries because we haven't changed all the items yet. I figured that this was an error in the data file and ran the repair on the file and that doesn't seem to have helped. I am currently running Money 2003 the file was originally created in Money 2000 and is approx. 3-3 1/2 years worth of data. The problem started happening before we upgraded to 2003, which I did about 5-6 months ago. This is the reason that I did the upgrade, I was hoping to alleviate this problem. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks in advance. BW |
