Default Re: Corrupt .mny file in Money 2000.

Hi Bob

Try the following link

http://support.microsoft.com/default...92&Product=mny

We used to see a lot of corruption problems in this newsgroup until Cal
Learner found the answer. I never would have believed it, if I wasn't
having so many problem. The attached link stopped my problems.

hopefully this helps

Try opening the sample.mny file. Does that work? If not, that would
tend to indicate the problem is the with the install rather than the
files. That would be good news I think.

You must have seen references to and read
http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=104 by now, so I won't direct you to it.

Have you considered trying to open/upgrade your M2K file with the M04 trial
version to see what happens? If it's already munged, it probably won't work,
but it seems to me you have little to lose.

Default Corrupt .mny file in Money 2000.

I'm pretty sure my .mny file got corrupted. When I start Money 2000,
everything is normal for the first few seconds. I can see my account
balances etc. Then I get a message that Windows XP must close Money
and there is an error message about 'floating point division by zero'.
I've tried every salvage utility I could find and nothing has
worked. I've also read thru a ton of threads in this and other
groups and have come up dry. I've opened a case with Microsoft, but
that hasn't worked either. They just suggest to try the salvage
utilities. I do have a backup file, but it is corrupt as well.
I've got 4 years and thousands of entries in that file and I'm looking
for anyone who could give me some help.

Thanks in advance to anyone who thinks they might be able to help.
