| To amplify on one point: Passport passwords are recoverable by Passport IF you remember the answers to the recovery questions. (You know, the "mother's maiden name" drill.) See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=26. Go to http://www.passport.net, click on Member Services and click on I forgot my password. This will NOT solve the first case I described. (The date in question was right about the first week of August.) If you think that's your case, see news://msnews.microsoft.com/eG2ikZfd...TNGP10.phx.gbl or http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...TNGP10.phx.gbl "Jeff" <anonymous[at]discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:5fd601c4923c$2d1db070$a301280a[at]phx.gbl... - quote - > Does anyone know how to open a money file if the password > has been misplaced? | Have you not opened your file for about a month or six weeks? Did it report this problem the last time you opened it? (I don't remember the exact date--but Microsoft CREATED THIS PROBLEM for Money users who Passport authenticate their files for a short window of time, two days or so, about a month or six weeks ago. If you opened your file in this two day period, this could well be your problem.) Can you use your Passport elsewhere? Can you login got Passport member services? Have you looked into the Passport password recovery service? | Does anyone know how to open a money file if the password has been misplaced? Was using Passport, but when attempting to open the file, error messsage says my passport password does not match password on money file. Tried to open with previous passport, but no go. Microsoft says they cannot open for legal reasons but third party consultants can support. Anyone know one? |
