| There is no error message. It just doesn't work and I can't figure out why. Closing a position means the number of shares of that investment goes to zero (I never delete an investment because I want the portfolio performance to remain accurate). I notice that in Money 2004 the way you "stop" an investment from being watched in the "Investments to Watch" account is by setting its share balance to zero. Any investment that I've closed obviously has a balance of zero in its original account. So when I then add it to the Investment to Watch account I set the share balance there to 1. But it simply never updates. It's as if the zero share balance in the original account overrides the Investment to Watch setting of 1. -- Russ Valentine [MVP-Outlook] "Michael Gordon, MVP" <gordonm[at]denison.edu> wrote in message news:%23fVxvm3jEHA.704[at]TK2MSFTNGP12.phx.gbl... - quote - > Posted this in the "other" newsgroup, Russ: > Hi Russ, > This issue is new to me. | Like most folks, whenever I close a position in an investment I like to keep track of its performance to compare to my new investments. Money 2004 won't let me. It will let me add those investments to the Investments to Watch Account, but it won't track them if they remain in their original account as a closed position. Investments to Watch will only let me track investments I've never held before. Is this a known limitation in Money 2004? -- Russ Valentine |
