Also, sometimes the transaction downloads from the broker before the position data from the broker has been adjusted. If I accidentally say to adjust, I get an AddShares or RemoveShares to delete. - quote - > The problem seems to be in dealing with selling calls or short sales.
It is possible some workaround would help, but I doubt it. If the difference is that SB was reporting a number back that was off by 100 from what Money expected, then that could be worth considering. I think you are saying that you sometimes tell Money to adjust, but Money does not insert an AddShares or RemoveShares as a consequence. Or are you saying that there is an adjustment made, but the result does not match the downloaded data? In any case, it would be nice if there was a setting where Money would not default the radio button to make the adjustment. It would be possible to examine the data that SB is sending to see where the problem lies for sure. That gives you a knowledge gain, but won't make the problem easier for you. |

| I have 3 accounts with Smith Barney. When I update these accounts in Money 2003 I get a box that is titled Position Matching. This box shows my positions that need to be updated and asks me if I want to do it automatically, or manually. If I check automatically and click finish the box disappears and I get the account update screen and when I click next the position matching box comes up again. This circle goes around and around and won't update my positions. I have to do it manually or hit postpone to move on. The problem seems to be in dealing with selling calls or short sales. The Smith Barney website has all my data correctly displayed, but of course the Money Software is way off in terms of value and position. Any way to fix this, or are Calls and Short selling and covering just more than the software can handle? Thanks in advance. -- Shel |
