This works better for me if I copy the .mny file to My Documents\
My Name first. Then install money. This is just my results.
Pre installed boxen I have no idea, because they are all
different.

Install Money 2004 on the new computer if it is not yet installed.

Copy the .mny or .mbf file from the CD to you My Documents folder.

In Windows Explorer, Right-click the file you copied and choose
Properties. Make sure read-only is not checked. OK.

Double-left-click the icon next to the file name to launch Money and
get started. If it is a .mbf file you used, do not take the default
location. Browse to the location where your Money file should be
restored to.

Just copy the CD to a location that you want and then open it from there -
money will then look there for your file all of the time.

Copy the .MNY file to your My Documents folder. Then double-click on it.
What you are trying to do should have NOTHING to do with File|Import.
