Default Reinvest Dividends in Money

As near as I can tell, it just adds shares..and does not
affect the average cost of the stock. To calculate that,
I had to use my broker's web site calculations.

The cost basis is maintained for the stock as a separate purchase.

Average cost will be displayed taking the dividend reinvestment into
account if you configure that column into the Portfolio view.
However when you sell stocks in the US, average basis is not used.
For funds it can be, and often is.

Default Reinvest Dividends in Money

I have a question regarding how money nahdles reinvesting of dividends.

When you enter a reinvest dividends transaction to a portfolio, does money
recalculate the amount reinvested and the new shares purcahsed into the
average cost of the stock? Or is it just an add shares with no affect on
the average cost. I know Money adds the reinvestment into the gains...was
hoping if someone could clarify that for me.

Thanks.
