If you're using the NTFS filesystem, it's possible that the permissions for whatever files are in that 36k were damaged. You mentioned Service Pack 2. This implies you have Windows XP. If so, you> is > C:\Program Files\Microsoft Home Publishing\HOMEPUB.EXE cannot access > "msjet35.dll" > Any ideas how I can retrieve this dll? may be able to use System Restore to go back to a point before your troubles began. Although restore points are intended to be reversible if you don't like the result, it would be a good idea to back up important files first, especially as you're also having other problems. A potentially unpleasant consequence of System Restore is that it removes files that didn't exist at the time of the original restore point. If you maintain a downloads directory (or anything similar) outside of the "My Documents" hierarchy, you may want to move it there, as this is the only "safe" place from the effects of System Restore. -- Scott Tyler agent_scotty-at-hotmail-dot-com |

| You may have hit on the problem. I did use Deluxe Portfolio Manager in the last week or so. I downloaded the updated version ( It took me several tries, and took an extremely long time on slow phone connection). Other strange happenings: 1. Norton Fast & Safe Cleanup will not completely clean Drive C. It leaves 36KB! 2. Norton Disk Doctor will not check Drive C w/ auto fix checked. Says the drive is busy with another app. 3. Norton Win Doctor has found a missing file, and cannot repair. File is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Home Publishing\HOMEPUB.EXE cannot access "msjet35.dll" Any ideas how I can retrieve this dll? | My previous post mentioned that I tried the three recommended methods for fixing my problem in MS Knowledge Base article 313374. These did not work. The last statement of the article indicates that the fixes apply to MS Money 2003 Standard, and I have Deluxe. Am wondering if there is another fix out there for the Deluxe version. | Two things have occurred in the past 2 days that have me curious, and am wondering if they have any bearing on the problem. I was informed that an update was available. The indication was that it was for XP SP2, but when I clicked the button nothing seemed to happen. To my knowledge, SP2 was never downloaded. A search of Money files brought up a Money 2005 file. Where it came from I do not know??? Could this be causing a problem? |
