| Thanks for the backup suggestion. I just wrote my first batch file to make daily backups on my laptop! And I wrote another one to backup once a day from my laptop to my desktop. So I will always have backups that's within a day or two. Even if my laptop crashes. Thanks so much! Sharon - quote - > -----Original Message-----

| Cal, I have set up Disk Space to 20 as you suggested. I had it set at 522!! I guess that was way too high. I have contacted Microsoft Support on this problem before and again this time. They also give me the same pat answer. Create a new Money file. I have tried that more than once. With some 20-25 accounts that I have in my Money File, it creates havoc to do that since I frequently transfer money between accounts. No matter how much I try, I can never get my balances back correct. So instead I use backups. However, the last time I tried (over a similar problem) I took a backup and worked over 8 hours on retyping transactions and still had hours to go since that backup was 3 months old. I do have a weekold backup that I will try and use this time. I backup everyday, but have to remember to change the backup name or it backups over the last backup. I wish there was an option that I could check that every backup renamed itself. Like Backup1, Backup2.. Kind of like when you copy a page in Excel, it doesn't replace the old one, just adds a new one. Any more ideas, let me know. It is just so frustrating that MS file keeps becoming corrupted. Can MS not fix this problem? Makes me want to try Quicken and I have used MS Money faithfully since 1995. Or is it something I am doing wrong? Tools-> InternetOptions-> Settings Amount of disk space to use to perhaps 50MB with dialup or 20 MB with broadband. That may not help, but it seems worth a try. | Jason, I am having the EXACT same problem. I have had it happen several times over the last few months. I always have to go to a backup and retype all my entries. I am SO TIRED of it. It has just happened again with 4 different accounts (before it would only affect 1 of my accounts at a time.) I just posted the same problem and then I saw your post. I will be watching to see if anyone can find a solution. I have tried salv.exe. NO LUCK. I deleted all my Internet Files and Cookies, tried salv.exe. NO LUCK. | Money crashed when performing the transaction matching process after downloading my statement. It now shows I have 21 transactions to view, but they do not show up in the register. I've tried to delete the statement, but even after I click OK, the transactions to view is still at 21. Each time I go to download new transactions, Money keep crashing. I have a backup, but it seems to have the same problem. I've also reinstalled the program. Any ideas? Thanks, Jason |
