I'll strongly second this idea. Putting your financial account nos.,
ids and passwords info into a suspect piece of software like this is
just begging for trouble.

You're right. The file does have the MS digital signature on it. I also
see it talking to the MS servers 04 did (well, trying to).

Default Money 2005 - my review

I would think that one of the stupidest things anyone
could ever do online is to download a copy of a piece of
financial software from a non-trusted site that deals in
warez. With no checksum for the download to compare you
have absolutely no idea if any trojans or other nefarious
packages have been inserted and now have full access to
your banking data.

Does Money 2005 have support for any additional investment types (such as
REIT's and Precious Materials)?

This is correct. It was wrong either way.

You didn't "purchase" from Amazon. You pre-ordered. You won't
officially have purchased it until it ships and they bill your card.

But I suppose if it makes you feel better about the bogus download...

I guess that MS won't switch on the on-line stuff until it is "officially"
released.

Default Money 2005 - my review

I purchased Premium 05 from Amazon last night. I couldn't wait so I
downloaded it from a less reputable source.....Anyway, the interface is
somewhat cleaner. The simple and advanced account views will be nice for
people that don't want all the detail. I'm excited they added a file
sharing feature to let other email accounts share the data. I couldn't get
this working last night. Most of the online stuff didn't work. I assume
this is because it's not officially released. Has anyone else been able to
get this to work?

The list of supported banks has grown. Finally the GM Card integrates and
lets you download transactions (this was not working last night). I also
couln't get msn bill pay working last night. One thing I've noticed is that
recently more of my payees are epay enabled.

There is a merge duplicate accounts feature.

I've not done a lot of real work with it yet. So far, it looks like the
most worthwhile upgrade in a long time.
