RCM,

Not sure about the downloaded bills, but I'm sure the three months
free bill pay is a reference to the standard MSN Bill Pay service and
not a reference to anything included with the Money software. I
suspect that, at least for this release, no free Bill Pay of any kind
is included.

Regards,
JB

Has anyone read closely the cnet.com review? I spotted a few things
that raise sone interest:

Page 3: "... when a bill is downloaded into Money, you input its payment
date, and ...". Is this a new feature, that bills are downloaded and
integrated directly into M05, (if yes, the review clearly didn't
recognize this, and this would be a substantial change), or did the
review misunderstand how it works? I suspect the latter, but am curious.

Also, P. 3: "Microsoft offers the MSN Bill Pay service free for the
first three months." That doesn't sound right for the premium version,
perhaps they mean to say 'first three years'. In past versions, the 'no
charge' MSN Bill Pay was a good deal.

Haven't I been doing this for a few years, already?

CNET: "If you dig deeper into the program's functionalities, you'll find
that Money 2005 is smarter and more flexible than its predecessor. When
downloading account information, Money 2005 recognizes purchases from
national vendors, such as restaurant chains, and automatically places them
in specific spending categories. You can also create problem-spending
categories--perhaps you dine out too often--and set a dollar limit for each.
"

The majority of reviews that I have seen with Quicken vs. Money (exception
of 2004) has had Money always win the review.

Once again the reviewers are pretty obviously people who don't actually use
the product from year to year.

The general Dumbing Down trend is little wonder when Quicken wins reviews
with such outstanding features as explaining "why you should pay off the
most expensive loan first."
