| Ryan, Further to Dick's earlier response: Choice #2 in http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=149 is definitely what you're looking for. Think of each of the checks as a deposit to yourself before you take them to the bank. If you either have or create a "cash" account in M04, you would enter each check as a deposit to that account with the corresponding payee. When you go to download your statement from the bank, categorize the lump sum deposit as a transfer into your bank account from the "cash" account. When you view each payee you'll see only the individual entries to the "cash" account! If you want, you can even have a unique "cash" account just for this purpose. The balance in the "cash" account would always be zero except for the time between your deposit and statement download. Hope this helps! | Nope. Not with a split. Split elements all accrue to one payee. See http://umpmfaq.info/faqdb.php?q=149. | I deposit a handful of checks at the bank. I download transactions from the bank, and get a single big deposit. I split the transaction, into the individual checks; and assign categories. Is there any way to associate these splits with payees? So that when I go to that payee, the deposit(s) will show up? Money 2K4 deluxe. |
