| Thanks for the help. The solution turned out to be entirely different. I use an ISP with a web page accelerator (compressed graphics and saved internet pages). I found an article on the Money Support homepage that I tried out and everything works fine now. The link is http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx? kbid=829143&Product=mny Basically, the size of temporary Internet files is over the Amount of disk to use setting in Microsoft Internet Explorer (perhaps due to the web accelerator, although I have been using it for a while and the problem only appeared recently). I tried the first recommended solution which involved emptying out the temporary internet files folder and everything works as it should. Thanks for the help! - quote - > -----Original Message----- > In microsoft.public.money, Wes wrote: > > > It has been annoying, but I have lived with it, until > > now. You might try renaming the .qfx file as *.ofx and importing that.> now. I have an account at another bank and the results > have been the same, but this bank does not offer the > ability to download Quicken files in QIF format. Start-> Settings-> ControlPanel-> FolderOptions-> FileTypes> Tools-> InternetOptions-> DoNotSaveEncryptedPagesToDisk is > not set." as was a suggestion for previous posts, but > that doesn't work. > Any ideas on how to get Money files to download and > imported properly? Select QIF Click Advanced. Check Confirm Open After Download unless you would not like the pop-up box. I would check the Always Show Extension, but you may choose not to. See that the "Actions" box contains "Open" in bold. If it is not bold, you can select Open as the default action by clicking the Set Default button. Click Edit. When you click edit, the application used to perform action should be similar to the following line: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Money\System\mnyimprt.exe" %1 WITH the quotes, and the %1 after the quote. Adjust the path according to where Money is installed on your system. Modify for your setup. Use DDE should be checked. Application should be "mnyimprt" without quotes. |

| For several months, when I download statements in Money format from my banks (direct via their website), the file doesn't make it to Money 2004 Deluxe. I get a popup as if the file is being downloaded but I get no indication from Money that it has been imported properly. It is almost as if the file is 'lost' someplace and Money does not recognize that a download occured. I get similar indications if I download in QIF format but select 'open' vice 'save'. If I download the statement in Quicken qif format and save it to the hard drive and then double click on the QIF file, Money imports it with no problems. Only by 'saving' the file first and double clicking the file, can I get Money to import it. It has been annoying, but I have lived with it, until now. I have an account at another bank and the results have been the same, but this bank does not offer the ability to download Quicken files in QIF format. It offers QFX formats which Money will not recognize, so no bank statements. I have tried "Make sure that in IE6 Tools-> InternetOptions-> DoNotSaveEncryptedPagesToDisk is not set." as was a suggestion for previous posts, but that doesn't work. Any ideas on how to get Money files to download and imported properly? Thanks, Wes |
