| Dick, I didn't think of the msxml3 voodoo either. I should know better by now but it never occurred to me in this case. Unfortunately I had already uninstalled it and then did the re-registering of the dll so I have no way of knowing if I completed to unnecessary steps. I probably should test it out but honestly, I have other things that are bigger on the plate to test than MS Money. :-) Regardless, I know the solution I provided works as it has been tested and if it helps someone then it is worth it, extra steps are not. | Group, Should you or any of your customers run into this issue, I believe I've stumbled along the right solution to this problem with the help of MS Online support. 1. Register the msxmll3.dll file (at the run prompt, type regsvr32 msxml3.dll) 2. Uninstall Money 200x 3. Reboot 4. Install Money 200x 5. Register the msxml3.dll file again While this multi-step process is long winded, it does work. I'm now able to get into my files with no problem and the application is running smoothly. | I know it doesn't help, but I have installed SP2 on the machine I have Money 2004 running on without any problems. Money 2004 still works fine. Sorry I couldn't provide more help. (My laptop got SP2 Monday night and I tested Money vs. my data file on the desktop last night after reading your post. No problem found.) I'm the administrator of this PC and logged in as such and it isn't a matter of not reading the file, it is the application itself failing to start immediately.
