See http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;178830 which
will do it with some caveats. Make sure to import all accounts together to
avoid double counting transfers.

This is precisely what is happening to me as well. Any solutions out there?
I am trying to help my mom with her expenses and I can't get her older Money
program to work with my Money 2004. I have tried a back-up restore but run
into a brick wall from there. Thx.

Default Upgrading from Money 98

I have just installed Money 2004, and am trying to
upgrade my Money 98 file. It keeps coming up with an
error which I found on the MS site. (Q320193 When you try
to open a Money data file that was created in an earlier
version of Money, you may receive the following error
message:
"Money cannot locate filename or cannot open it, possibly
because it is a read-only file, you do not have
permission to change it, or your disk drive is write-
protected. If you have chosen the correct file and it
cannot be accessed, you will need to click OK and then
Restore your most recent backup file.")
However the fixes I got from there didn't work either.
Salvage did't work, nor did repair. Salvage told me the
file wasn't even a database! Anyone had any success with
upgrading from 98? Or any other suggestions would be most
welcome! Many thanks!
