| This is precisely what is happening to me as well. Any solutions out there? I am trying to help my mom with her expenses and I can't get her older Money program to work with my Money 2004. I have tried a back-up restore but run into a brick wall from there. Thx. | I have just installed Money 2004, and am trying to upgrade my Money 98 file. It keeps coming up with an error which I found on the MS site. (Q320193 When you try to open a Money data file that was created in an earlier version of Money, you may receive the following error message: "Money cannot locate filename or cannot open it, possibly because it is a read-only file, you do not have permission to change it, or your disk drive is write- protected. If you have chosen the correct file and it cannot be accessed, you will need to click OK and then Restore your most recent backup file.") However the fixes I got from there didn't work either. Salvage did't work, nor did repair. Salvage told me the file wasn't even a database! Anyone had any success with upgrading from 98? Or any other suggestions would be most welcome! Many thanks! |
