I have the exact same problem. It was a problem in Money 2004, and the exact
same problem happens in Money 2005. I have confirmed that the <BALAMTsection of my downloaded .ofx file is correct, meaning that the bank is
sending the correct information. It seems money just chooses to ignore it,
and it's stubborn about it too, I've tried a ton of things and nothing
worked.

I'm a software developer and I know a bug when I see it, this is a blatant
one. I'm surprised it wasn't fixed in Money 2005, from what I can see there
are a lot of people out there experiencing this problem.

This information should be coming from the bank, although I have seen cases
where the information just freezes for no reason. You could try a repair,
but I'm not hopeful on that. It might also be worth trapping the statement
download and having a look in it to see whether the balance is in there.

(For manual downloads outside of Money, you can find it in the temporary
directory after you've downloaded, but before you select the account to
match against, as a file with a name something like ~ofXXXX.tmp)
