Default Re: Strange payment schedule in debt planner

I my searching I actually found a solution in the MS Money Help File.

Something must have been screwed up with the DRP, so I went into Tools:
Options: Planner and clicked "Reset Debt Plan" and when I went back and
created my DRP they payments all made sense. I've had the same MS Money file
for years, upgraded from previous versions, so maybe there was an old DRP
somewhere in the file from Money 98 or something.

Default Re: Strange payment schedule in debt planner

I am having the same problem, but when I move the debt out of the planner
and back in it does not give me any option to choose when to start the debt
reduction planner. It has a $5K payment to my auto loan and does not give me
any options to change it.

I checked my loan details, scheduled payments, etc and it just does not make
sense.

If you say that you want to start the plan in, let's say, 3 months but
haven't made those payments yet (why would you have?), Money still expects
those payments to be made in the first payment of the DRP and adds them in.
Move the Line of Credit account out of the plan and back in. When adding it
in, go ahead and set the plan to start in the upcoming months, but just
indicate that the payments have been made (even though they haven't) and you
should be in business.

Default Strange payment schedule in debt planner

Hi!
I am using Money 2004 and I was trying out the Debt
Planner. I have a Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC). I
wanted to experiment with payments to see when I would be
debt free. When I go through the exercise and look at the
"Payment Schedule by Month" I see a HUGE payment (appr
$14,000) the first month. WHere is this coming from. I
never entered this in. Can anyone help? Thanks!
