For how long do you expect to leave the money invested? If
it's more than ten years, then some alternatives to CDs are
worth considering.

Otherwise, you need to indicate something about your risk
tolerance. CDs are low risk. Generally anything paying more
right now is higher risk.

Knowing nothing else about you, no, nothing much better.
Is this money invested for the longer term, 10 years +?

With return, comes risk. Right now the risk free rate is about what you
quoted.

Default Investing Better

Hi, I have some money that I would like to invest...like about $5,000
or more and am
aware of some CDs that offer compound interest of about 5.5%. Does
anybody know of an investment
that would yield 8% or more??

Thanks in advanced for any response.
