A web search would yield the answer and then some.
e.g. http://www.trustetc.com/irs/irs-news.html

Default 2006 IRA Contribution Limit Question

I seem to be having a brain-freeze tonight --- Can someone tell me what
the IRA contribution limit is for the year 2006 for a single taxpayer
who is older than 50? Is it $4500 or is it $5000?

As we approach the end of the year, I want to make sure that I don't go
over the legal limit.

Thanks!
