Not typical.

I apologize if my message was not sufficiently clear.
The $150 fee I paid is the distribution fee charged for rolling over a
401(k) to an standard IRA account.

Fidelity is not the company at stake here. It is Pension Dynamics, a
company based in Pleasant Hill, California.

According to the Pension Dynamics representative that answered me, $150
is the fee Pension Dynamics charges regardless of the size of the
account balance. The only time they charge less is if the balance is
$200 or less because paperwork is not required.

Would you know if this level of fee is typical in the market today?

Thank you in advance for your answers.

We can't answer your question until you tell us what the fee was for.
Suggest you contact Fidelity and ask. If you do not understand the
answer ask them to put it in writing then post it here.

I just rolled over two 401(k)s from Fidelity to Vanguard, and there was no
fee at all. (Lots of bitching from Fidelity.) I suppose your fee was a
function of the managing company. For 18% I would just leave it where it
is, since an IRA doesn't automatically do better than a 401(k).

Default 401(k) Rollover fee?

Hello-

I initiated the rollover of my 401(k) to a traditional IRA account. The
401(k) held a small amount of money, roughly $800.

My last 401(k) account statement indicates that a $150 fee was charged
for that operation; that's over 18% fee!

According to your experience, is this rate common practice?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

Eric
