I wrongly sent two replies to your comments. The second one was not in reply
to your latest message.
I did not realise that I could apply in any year. Worth bearing in mind.
Thank you.

But remember you can apply it in any future year, where you happen to
have gains of more than £8k.

One lives in hope ;-).

Thanks for the information. As I don't make £8k it won't apply to me

As the tax loss is worth either 20% or 40% to you, and is claimable in
any year when you have capital gains over c. £8k, it's more of a £600
loss than a £1000 loss?

Thanks for the info. Yes I did have Marconi shares which are almost
worthless now so perhaps I will get a few pence back for my £1000 investment
I can't win them all!

Yes that is correct. Marconi PLC as was (previously GEC plc).

Telent is now the subject of a public offer.

Default Telent shares query?

I have received several communications about my holding of Telent shares and
I cannot find out what the original shares were called as I don't recognise
Telent as a company I held shares in.An Extraordinary General meeting is
being arranged
Has anyone a clue
