A risky strategy if the timing is off by a day.

As you are certain that you can reply the funds within 60 days see if
your banker can make a short term loan secured by the property without
all the normal costs associated with a mortgage.

Or consider a HELOC on your primary residence.

A loan for 60 days is nothing in terms of interest paid. You just need
to avoid the set up costs.

I need some additional money to pay cash for a second home. I do not
want a mortgage at my age. The seller needs to close no later than June
30. I do not have quite enough money to settle by that date. I am
certain I will be able to replace the money in my IRA, if that 60 day
grace period for rollovers still apply. Lee

Default IRA withdrawal question

A part of my IRA is in a bank CD that will mature the end of July. How
long can I keep this money without paying the taxes? I believe it use to
be 60 days. I will definitely have the money to roll it over before 60
days. Lee
