You can contribute $4000 per person, so $8000 per married couple. For
each person that is over 50 years old, then you can put $5000.

You have the responsibility. There is no automatic lockout.

Default ROTH IRA Questions....Need expert advice

Hello All,

I had few roth IRA questions, hope you can help.

I am a married person, filling income tax jointly. My income is
50,000.00. My wife doesn't have a SSN and doesn't work, but she has an
ITIN. My question was:

1. What is my maximum amount I can put in my ROTH IRA. Is it still 4000
for year 2006 even if I am filling jointly ?

2. Can I open Roth IRA with two different companies. I am contributing
monthly $ 200 into a T.Rowe Price Mutual fund. Can I also open a
account with Vanguard and contribute into that Roth IRA.

3. If I have 2 different account, do I have the responsibility to limit
my yearly contribution to $4000 or will the plan automatically not
allow me to put more money into it once I reach combined yearly
contribution of $4000

Thanks.
