I own a small piece of this fund. I haven't paid too much attention> ultra small-cap index. > I was curious if those here who are familiar with that or a similar > asset class (like, say, if you use DFSTX had any opinions or heard> any scuttlebut on how well (or not) BRSIX operates in that realm > (considering the small float, low liquidity of many issues, tax hell > and high turnover as companies fall into and rise out of the index, > etc.) to how well it tracks its index, but the fund is consistently very tax-efficient. However, this is a lousy time to buy it. It had a huge run-up in 2003 and 2004, and it's still sitting on a big pile of capital gains as a result. Personally, I've been putting my new money into large-caps and international funds since that big run-up, since my portfolio got a little out of whack from the disproportionate growth of the small-caps. -Sandra |

When doing some research on fees, minimum investments, etc., I noticed> ultra small-cap index. that Morningstar and some other places list BRSIX's performance versus a benchmark index. Which index? The SP500. *sigh* -- Rich Carreiro rlcarr[at]animato.arlington.ma.us |
