Anoop,
Try ticker EFA. It sounds like you were getting a quote for the iShare
tracking that index rather than the index itself. The iShare had a 3:1
split in June 2005.

The Morgan Stanley site reports the actual index value, that's the "MS"
in "MSCI":

Not all quoting sources list this, as it's an MS-proprietary index. EFA
is just another equity so is an easier quote to find via Yahoo, your
broker's site, etc.

Default symbol for MSCI EAFE?

I used to use ^EFV to track the MSCI EAFE. At the time I started
tracking it, it was in the 150s. A few weeks ago, it suddenly
changed to some value in the 50s and hasn't moved at all. I'm
assuming something has changed and the symbol is not valid. Yet
Yahoo Finance doesn't report it as an error, but if I try to get
detailed information, it doesn't have any. What symbol can I
use to track the actual value of the EAFE index?
