| The book entitled "The Millionaire Mind" by Thomas Staneley is a great read. I have learned a great deal from this book and know many successful people who have found value in the work of Dr. Staneley. However, I received a notice for a free seminar that was supposedly endorsed by this best selling author a few months back, and I decided to check it out. When I walked in the door, the place wreaked of network marketing (mlm) propaganda. They wanted you to fill out a card giving them all your contact information before you even went into the meeting, and there were large men standing by the exits who looked as if they had been instructed to tie up and gag anyone who tried to leave. I slipped out as quickly as possible before the event began. I do not know to what extent Thomas Staneley actually endorses these events, but I was rather displeased by the association. I recommend reading "The Millionaire Mind" and "The Millionaire Next Door" (These projects received their revenues from book sales and thus have little motivation to deceive), however I would recommend avoiding free seminars, no matter who endorses them (nothing is ever free). |

| Please avoid this sort of 'tent-revival' hokum. Save your money. This is just like the exciting day-trading classes that were offered during the bubble. Unless you can find out detailed specifics beforehand, you're being scammed. "Chicken Soup for the Soul"? (It can't hurt?) "One Minute Millionaire"? "SpeedWealth"? (trademarked!). This newsgroup can mostly help folks with actual financial issues. If you have some, let's discuss them. Maybe we can help more, though saving your $!000 and investing it instead is a good start... | Happy Monday. A Millionaire Mind weekend seminar (www.peakpotentials.com (among others)) came and left Manhattan a few weeks ago and I've spoken to several people who rave about how great it was. And they seem to be a very big organization with a huge following, yet I've done a Google search and can't find too many threads discussing this program. Has anyone attended the weekend and cares to comment on their Millionaire Mind experience? Some of my friends came away so excited they've almost convinced me to fly to another city to attend the seminar; I was hoping to get some feedback here before spending $1,000 on air and hotel. The people I've spoken to are very passionate about how great it was, but are a bit short on specifics. Rick Bryan New York, NY |
