Default Re: Disappearing Ink?

It sounds like your receipts that are on thermal paper are vanishing. This
is the same paper that was used in the old fax machines. If the characters
are smudging or vanishing, it is likely due to quality of the original. The
best solution is to copy or scan the document, if you need to keep it.

I have not had the disappearing ink problem and cannot advise you about
it. Regarding financial records in general, some brokerages, including
Fidelity, make historical account statements available to investors
online, in PDF format. For paper records with no electronic equivalents
available, I recommend scanning them into a computer file and making
regular backups (perhaps by emailing them to a free web account such as
Yahoo or Gmail that provides considerable storage).

Default Disappearing Ink?

Anybody grappled with problems of financial record ink disappearing?
Seems like a lot of register tape from a year or two ago is going
invisable on me, including from USPS. Is this a known problem? Is
there a way to recover, like soaking in lemon juice or something? I
hope that technology has been fixed, so we don't have to photocopy
everything for preservation.
