| Look on your last Summary Annual Report(SAR) or Summary Plan Description(SPD) there should be an address to contact the Department of Labor about your plan. Here's a link to their web site on Participant's Rights. http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/health-...pantrights.htm http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/publications..._brochure.html http://www.dol.gov/ebsa/aboutebsa/main.html#section4 This last web site tells you how to contact the Employee Benefit Security Administration(EBSA) about your plan. Or as the DOL site suggests you may need to contact the IRS or PBGC (if this is a defined benefit plan). Search the web, I believe there may be some other government sponsored web sites on how to find out about your plan. EBSA may be the best place to start if you aren't getting anywhere with your former employer. Or ask your former employer who the new plan administrator is and how to contact them directly. | I have a vested interest in a company pension plan that was active until the year 2000. But I have not received any financial statements since then for 5 years and am concerned the benefits may not be available. I have contacted the company and received a response that the actuarial responsibilities for the Pension Plan were transferred to new management and financial statements would be available in February of this year (2005). When statements did not arrive in March, I again contacted the company and received a response they would check up on it and let me know. I am getting concerned the pension plan benefits may never be paid and wondering how I should proceed from here? -Bill |
