All the guidance you could possibly want is at www.ifa.com, including
plenty of model portfolios.

Default Re: Allocation Update

I have some additional data on the total stock market index breakdown.
Vanguard shows:

Large Cap 64%
Mid Cap 26%
Small Cap 10%

If one wants to break it up to small and large, I would assume that
Large is 64% and that small is mid plus small: 36%.

Does this make sense?

Default Allocation Update

Ok, I read over the advice and tried to split the Vanguard Total Stock
Market Index into Large and small cap. I assumed 80% large and 20%
small. Across the 2 IRAs, my wife's 403b, and my 401k, we now have this
breakdown:

50.5% Large
25% Small
20% International
4.5% Bond

Again, 28, married, house. 2 kids in the next 3 years.

Is the 80/20 of the total stock market index a good assumption? Any
good reading on asset allocation? It seems to be the area that books
etc. are least likely to go into specifics.
