Default Re: Report: Index Funds Beat Active Managers again for '04

Default Report: Index Funds Beat Active Managers again for '04

Contra Costa Times, Jan 20. Page C5

"Index Funds beat most active managers in '04"

According to a report from Standard & Poor's
Fund managers lagged indexes in 8 of 9 investment
categories tracked by S&P.
Srikant Dash, S&P's index strategist said there
is no consistency to this trend over the short term,
but starting at 3-5 year horizons we consistently
see indices ahead of managed funds.
